Transdev | Geodesign
Context
Transdev is a French-based international company that operates public transportation networks all around the globe. Geodesign is a product they developed to allow cities to manage their own transport network simply.
Need
Geodesign was created a few years prior as a small project. It was a one man team and the most important element of the product was its functionalities. After a few years of development, I was asked to simplify the user experience (especially in the sidebars) as well as the user interface. The second need was to find a way for cities to personalise their interface as to represent the transport network location and brand.
Result
Simplified the structure
Created a simple design system to be able to change colors quickly based only the citie's brand
Simplified the creation of a city network to fit in a sidebar
Structure
The structure of the app was simplified to have four main elements :
- A top bar that allows the user to see what city he/she is connected to but also contains actions
- In the center, the map of the network
- A sidebar, on the left, that either has information about an element selected or the form to create a new network
- Quick action bar on the right side of the screen
Network Creation
A simple form in the sidebar was designed to create a new line inside his network. This allows users to stay on the map page.
Theme
Each city can adapt the product to its brand colors. They have the possibility to chose two main colors that will then be automatically applied throughout the app.
